The Football Association of Ghana continued to excel as the lead member association testing various components of the FIFA Connect program, and the latest, the FIFA Connect management system, which began its pilot phase in October.
The FIFA Connect program helps member associations to systematically register all their stakeholders and track players, coaches and referees, wherever they are in the world, and to digitize their competition management activities. FIFA Connect provides a unique FIFA ID code for each person who plays a role in a football organization, acting as a digital football passport number and has the information and history of each stakeholder. The GFA has been a key FIFA partner in testing various elements of FIFA Connect over the past six years.

“The FIFA Connect system is a huge step forward. The FIFA Connect system gives us a whole new level of comfort and improves our work more than a hundred times. Players will tell you… and currently we are running a same day service so if a player needs a letter of introduction to maybe go and do something, maybe go and apply for a visa to go and play abroad, he applies in the morning and then they receive their letter of introduction the same day.
. 0040-0120 – Prosper Harrison Addo, Ghana FA General Secretary
“If they don’t have a very good computer system like the FIFA Connect platform to register players and play their matches very quickly, they are heading for a crash. Since the number of players is increasing, the number of problems associated with running an association without a registration platform like this is very risky. The risk is very high. And so, we engage from time to time with other associations, and some of them also come here to take courses and see what we are doing. And so, I would say there is the will that this is the step to take.

. 0124-0210 – IT Director FA Ghana Francis Adu
“With the implementation of Project Connect, it has given us a centralized database, where with a single click we can get all the information you need about a particular player, from Junior level to Premier level. Additionally, it helps us generate Player Passports for our players. And, invariably, helping our clubs make money in a way that when it comes to claiming compensation, with the help of players’ passports, it’s so much easier for clubs to enforce their rights against other clubs that have the valuable Ghana players. . So the system has been very, very helpful.
. 0211-0241 – IT Manager FA Ghana Francis Adu
“At the end of a season, you can watch all the games played in Ghana, all the goals scored, all the assists, the saves [made] by the goalkeepers, and this will help our technical directors to take decisions at national team level. So these are some of our main goals and objectives that we want to achieve in the near future. »

“It gave me power. Because, at first, when you train, you think of traveling, of going to sign your contract and your registration forms. But now you can focus 100% on camp. You know, when your camp starts pre-season, it’s really important. You have to focus on it and [take in] everything the coach taught you. But during the pre-season, because of the registration, you are somehow affected. But with that [system], no one is going anywhere. You will be here; they will check you in. You have no age problem, no date problem, no signature problem. When they register you, they register you. Everything is at your fingertips [of a button] on the system. So I think they’ve been very successful in putting that system in place.
. 0330-0350 – Referee Joseph Kwofie
“This system, the CMS, has been very useful. This saved us from the display system which [we used to] To do. And also, it’s very fast: you can just be in your car and do it. The last time, just after the match, in ten minutes, I had made the report.
. 0351-0420 Head of Competitions Department Ghana FA Sena Akoto Ampaw
“Once a player enters the system, regardless of age, they simply move from club to club in the system. They don’t have to keep records or go back to each club and then get records. It’s all with the FA [Football Association], everything is in the Cloud. Once you enter the system, you have access to everything you want. I would encourage every FA to adopt it.
