“I have personally witnessed the growth of Salvagnini America since 1998 when I joined the company,” Johnson said of the company, which has been in Hamilton for 30 years and has about 125 employees (and looking to hire). “We are a silent organization. We are not noisy by nature.

The expansion completes the campus which will provide “a welcoming facility” for current and future customers to explore the machines they offer. He stressed that it was not a machine showroom, calling it a “comprehensive learning center to promote comprehensive manufacturing solutions in a market.”

“The campus is where visitors can reach all of design and manufacturing, from design to finished products,” Johnson said. “We focus on our customers first and the campus provides a better place to exchange ideas and communicate our skills, values and original thinking.”

It is the latest manufacturer to set up or expand in Hamilton, reflecting the revitalization the city has been experiencing for over a decade.

“Manufacturing, especially with what you’ve seen in Hamilton, southwest Ohio, and Ohio in general, coming back is really advanced manufacturing, and superior quality and superior product made in the state.”

Ohio regularly appears on lists identifying the best states for manufacturing. The database website IndustrySelect.com ranked Buckeye State third with the number of manufacturing jobs at nearly 900,000 with more than 15,000 manufacturing companies.

Hamilton has seen several companies over the past 12 months open a new facility, expand existing facilities or announce expansion plans, including Saica, thyssenKrupp Bilstein and Vinylmax.

“It’s a business like this that will help us retain our workforce and grow our workforce,” Gunderson said of Salvagnini.

Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce President Dan Bates said the city has attracted and retained businesses for several reasons, including its utility infrastructure, transportation infrastructure and ease of cutting red tape.

“I think everyone in Hamilton — the city, the chamber, economic development, everyone — is working as hard as they can to facilitate the projects,” Bates said. “This team in Hamilton is doing what it takes to make it happen. Things don’t get bogged down with bureaucracy and red tape and that sort of thing. It always happens, but everyone finds a way. They’re not going to make it hard for them to complete a project like this, safely, easily, legally, and as quickly as possible.

Gunderson said the character of the building speaks to the character of Salvagnini. Johnson said the expansion’s architecture focused on nature, craftsmanship and simplicity, not unlike its Italian headquarters.

“To see this facility, it’s truly breathtaking,” said Gunderson. “The architectural building of this community has been the subject of so much thought and it says a lot about the company. It really speaks to their character. They get it right, and they get it right the first time. »
