Liberty Global Transaction Solutions expands its European presence
Liberty Global Transaction Solutions has announced that, as part of its aim to better serve the expanding Italian, Spanish and French warranty and indemnity insurance markets, its multilingual underwriting team for Southern Europe now offers a local presence. in Milan, Madrid and Paris.
Barbara Magni, lead underwriter for Liberty GTS, is moving from London to the Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) office in Milan, Italy. Magni is a mergers and acquisitions lawyer, trained at Clyde & Co in London and in the W&I team at XL Catlin. She has worked at Liberty GTS and its subsidiary Ironshore since 2016, focusing on transactions in Southern Europe.

Antonio Jesus Sanchez, underwriter for Liberty GTS, is moving from London to LSM’s office in Madrid, Spain. Before joining Liberty GTS in January 2020 in London, Sánchez was associated with the corporate department of Hogan Lovells and Pérez-Llorca, based in Madrid. He has advised on a variety of M&A transactions in Spain and Latin America.

Martin Noire, underwriter for Liberty GTS, joins the LSM office in Paris, France. Noire is a qualified lawyer within the French legal code (Avocat à la Cour) and prior to joining Liberty GTS, she was a partner at Hogan Lovells and Baker McKenzie, Paris. He specializes in French and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

AEGIS London promotes Yeldham to OUC, succeeding Croom-Johnson
AEGIS London, Lloyd’s syndicate and subsidiary of AEGIS (Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services Ltd.), announced that Matthew Yeldham will be promoted to Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) in July. The appointment follows the announcement that the current CUO, Alex Powell, we will succeed David Croom Johnson as CEO when he retires in June.

Yeldham has been Deputy Head of Underwriting since 2015, having joined AEGIS London in 2010. Previously he held senior roles in the insurance market in London including Aspen Insurance Group and Wellington Underwriting.

UK names Allen from Argo Global and Poynder from MAP for the real estate facilities team

Brit Ltd. announced the appointments of Joanne Allen and Thomas Poynder to its Property Facilities team. Taking office in early January 2022, Allen joins as a flood class underwriter, reporting to Sarah Mendola, division manager, while Poynder joins as a transportation underwriter, reporting to David Perkins, Class Underwriter, Transportation.

An industry expert with more than 20 years of property catastrophe underwriting experience in the United States, Allen comes from Argo Global. Most recently, she served as a Class Underwriter and US Delegated Portfolio Manager for Flood and Bank Losses and Losses for six years, significantly growing the portfolio while she managed the portfolio. Prior to joining Argo in 2015, Allen held several property underwriting positions at Ark Management Syndicate, Catlin and Wellington Underwriting.
Poynder joins Managing Agency Partners (MAP), where he served as Associate Underwriter for International Transportation for more than two years. He joined MAP in 2016 as an automotive underwriting assistant, having started his insurance career at Chubb underwriting political risk and trade credit.
