Five University of Nottingham Ningbo alumni recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30


NINGBO, China, April 07, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Five University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) graduates have been recognized by the prestigious Forbes Under 30 (U30). List of under 30 awarded each year by Forbes in different countries, it has become the symbol of the success of young talents.

Each year, Forbes seeks influential young people under the age of 30 emerging in their respective industries who have demonstrated their potential to become leaders in their industry and in society at large in the future. They are either innovators or entrepreneurs, those with the potential to become future leaders, industry experts or leaders.

At the 2021 Forbes Under 30 (U30) Summit hosted by Forbes China Group held earlier this year, Mr. Cheng Chen, a UNNC alumnus who received the U30 in 2017, was invited to share his experiences in the Summit’s live broadcast studio. Chen was one of five UNNC alumni to be recognized by the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list during its 18-year history.

Mr. Chen discussed his journey with his brand, Monster Guardians. An emerging sports brand offering high performance athletic products and apparel for sports enthusiasts, the company has grown in popularity. Mr. Chen discussed this trip and various other topics associated with the spirit of nutrition and entrepreneurship at UNNC.

In 2017, Mr. Chen was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Since then, the Monster Guardians brand has progressed to being named one of the most promising companies in China by Forbes in 2018. At the summit, Mr. Chen explained that his current achievements are inseparable from the international education he received at UNNC. “The open and inclusive learning environment on campus was impressive. I studied with people of various nationalities, cultural backgrounds and languages. I saw my peers communicate and analyze the same problem from different angles very different. [through the] the integration of thought in the highly international atmosphere of study.”

I have always dreamed of turning my hobby into a career, and UNNC has given me endowed with such knowledge and skills that enabled me to fulfill my dream,” Chen said.
