During Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, around 600 foreign mercenaries have been killed in the past two weeks and more than 500 others have fled the country, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
“Over the past two weeks, more than 500 mercenaries have left the country and around 600 more have been eliminated,” Shoigu said in a remote conference on Tuesday, TASS reports.
He stressed that “systematic operations continue to track down and eliminate foreign mercenaries”.
“Strikes with smart weapons against mercenary training centers as well as combat losses have significantly reduced their presence in Ukraine,” Shoigu said.
